| What a wonderful car our beloved Z32 is! I'm in a danger of having a permanent grin now :) I just spent my weekend with Porsche Owners Club driving in their Short Track Series. It was my first time on any track (except a couple of karting outings). I have to say that the event was very well organized, with good instruction and activities. The Porsche instructors were not that familiar with the car, but that only increased the size of my smile :). One instructor called the car 'scary fast', other called it 'f-ing scary' and me a 'very brave man' :) I spent some time on the skidpad, learning to throttle steer. What fun is that! Had to intentionally spin the car, as a part of an excersize. Unlike with a 911, I had to do that by stomping on the gas instead of lifting :). Didn't kill the engine once! On Sunday, had 4 track sessions, first practice, 3 timed. Started with 1:43 and ended with 1:34. One session was ruined, though, because some a-hole in a built Porsche wouldn't move over to let me pass. It was a great feeling to be hitting 100+ mph on the front and back straights. But I had to work on my downshifting while braking. Sorely missed heel-toe braking (don't have paddle plates that would let me do that; with the stock paddles, my foot kept sliding off of the brake paddle). Span the car twice - once on the straight by giving too much juice while in the second. Other time while downshifting after the Esses. My 2 months old tires (KDW/2) are pretty much gone. Front left is missing big chunks of rubber .Big thanks go to Specialty Z. The Brake Man kit Seb installed worked very well. The stopping power really impressed my instructor (though the overall grip not so much:) ). I hope that with some practice and a more track-ready car (things like camber, etc.), I will be looking at 1:30! :) Cheers, Alex
